Restoration and Conservation

Conservation is a low cost job for mid graded items in the good to very fine range. The purpose of this is to clean and remove harmful acidic agents (tape, stains, glue and bacterial agents) and make small paper repairs to improve the overall appearance and durability of the piece.

Restoration is for the lower graded pieces that are in fair to good condition. The purpose of this is to raise the grade to it highest level by using specialist techniques such as grafting, paper replacement and print matching. This is a longer and more expensive process than conservation but when finished will show fantastic results.
