So it isn't an FMB per se, but was inspired by the one and same pattern and it is SO beautiful I HAD to post it for further inspiration! Sylvia - "Basically did the FMB using dpns for the base. Didn't make the base very big, maybe 8" square. Then up the sides as per directions until it was about 8" tall. Then did what I think of as a "hat decrease": k6, k2tog around. Then one plain row. Then k5, k2tog around. Another plain row. K4, k2tog. Plain. K3, k2tog. Plain. K2, k2tog. Plain. k1, k2tog. Plain. k2 tog around. Then bound off. Took two trips through the washer to felt, this is Lion Brand fisherman wool dyed with kool aid. Blocked by stuffing tight with empty plastic grocery sacks. Helped the "squash" effect at the top along with my hands. Voila!" |
