a dog bit me once
inuyasha
    Let me get this straight.

I am not a fan of Rumiko Takahashi.

Her characters were always extremely boring to me. Kagome had no personality, Shippo didn't do anything except sit there and be cute, and Sango was the all around perfect feminist trying to get revenge. Miroku's perverted nature got old after a couple of episodes, Sesshomaru didn't do anything until he met Rin, and Jaken doesn't get enough recognition (Yes, Jaken is my favorite IY character). The joke with Ranma's gender got old and repetitive after a while, and Shampoo was a ditz.

Actually, the only characters I find interesting are Jaken and Kikyou.

Rumiko's manga just disturbs me. I'm sorry to say it.

And Inu Yasha the dog demon disturbed me with his striking resemblance to Youko-chan. I could've sworn that Takahashi took Youko's character design and smushed it together with Hiei.

It had me absolutely outraged. Inu Yasha had Hiei's "I don't need anyone so I'll just hmph at everything" attitude, and he had Kurama's ears, hair, and eyes. But Inu Yasha seemed to mess it all up. He was like some demented cloning experiment gone wrong. He took Kurama's perfection and made it into....BLAH. It had me wondering what the hell was going through Rumiko's mind when she created her character. Did she not notice the obvious similarities with her character and one of the most previously popular characters in Japan?

It carries the same idea with Japanese karate. Karate was taken from Shaolin Kung Fu and perfected into an entirely different style. The only problem was that Shaolin Kung Fu was already perfect, and karate turned out to look clumsier and less natural(in my opinion) than Kung Fu.

Did I mention that I'm not a fan of Rumiko Takahashi?
