his clothes
*points to site title* He's a fox in pink clothes. Adorable image, ne? ^_^ I don't care if he's in blue clothes! Doujinshi artists can do whatever they want!
He has many outfits. He's probably the one who changes his clothes most often. If not, then he has the prettiest changes in outfits. Kurama will look good no matter what you put him in. Rags? Go ahead. A dress? What guy doesn't look cute in a dress? Black leather pants? Always. ^_~ But the outfit he's most well known for is his pink school uniform with yellow bordering the edges. At first, I thought I could get by with saying his outfit was magenta. Eventually, though, I realized magenta was too hard to say and sounded even more gay and pansy-like than pink. He wears pink and that's that. He even wears the thing when he isn't in school. I think he feels an attachment to his studies more than other aspects of his life. He doesn't do much outside of school. He doesn't go shopping, he doesn't seem to play video games too much, and he doesn't need to play sports. School is all he has (other than his mother and friends, that is), and so he wears his school uniform most often. Of all colors, why pink? Kurama had to have a school uniform like everyone else. Blue was taken by Kuwabara and Yusuke's school, and Yusuke already had a green uniform from who knows where. Yellow is too blinding to the eye, so the obvious choice was a white uniform. In the manga, it seemed as though he had a dark blue uniform (according to the cover illustrations), but in the anime, his outfit was changed to pink. The question is, why? Well, this isn't the 90s we're talking about. This is the late 80s and early 90s- The color choice might have been derived with the time period. People from the 80s were crazy, after all. Maybe they somehow had this idea that red (his hair) matched with pink (his shirt), and that's how Kurama's outfit was conjured up. But, despite his outfit being a gay color, his outfit makes him stand out in the show. Scientific studies show that red is the most attractive color in the spectrum (ie: if you walk into a room, the first thing you'll notice is the red vase on the table), so, naturally, shouldn't a relative to red be attractive as well? Kurama's outfit makes him special, and it's part of what catches our eye when we first see him. |
