The History

The Dubai Enquirer began life as The Dubai Metropolitan Daily Inquisitor in 1983, covering events including the opening of Jimmy Carrefour's all-purpose VeggieMart and the Under-5 Arabian Flugtag tragedy.

It sadly folded in 1994 following the accidental printing of this picture:

The DMDI's original team were all deported. However, twelve years later, new funding saw the paper's resurrection - together with a new title and a new mission statement.

The Team

Clive Clive
Editor Clive originally hails from Tring in Hertfordshire and has worked on many news organs during his career. After starting life as tea boy on the UK's Enjoying Fretwork, he worked as a cub reporter on Knit! and freelanced for Improve Your Coarse Fishing, Prison Sports, and The Didsbury Chronicle. A spell working in television on documentaries (When Lighthouses Go Bad, and Whats That Dear? - Living With Alzheimers) led to his big break editing the Norfolk section of Exchange and Mart's online edition. He moved to Dubai last year. In his spare time he enjoys sports.

Dwayne

Dwayne
Dwayne, a native of Capetown, is renowned in South Africa as an anti-bullying campaigner. As well as managing our subscriptions, he plays a mean saxophone.


Randy

Randy
Randy fled his home in South Dakota following a spat with his uncle. Prior to joining the Dubai Enquirer, he worked for Seychelles National Television as their Greenland correspondent.


Trevor

Trevor
Trevor is an ardent Brentford City supporter, but still finds time to 'chillax' on his favourite Dubai beach - Al Mamza!


Maureen

Maureen
Maureen makes regular trips to her homeland of Chad, where she is actively engaged in a coup.
