Dragons Academy was formed In January 2003 by Head Instructor and Nationally recognised martial artist, Stephan Rowland. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and is now recognised as one of the top martial arts and kickboxing clubs in England, priding itself on its "No-Ego" ethic, excellent training facility. with a 3,500 square feet training area, which is fully matted and boasts punch & kick bags, training pads, speed balls, floor to ceiling balls and skipping ropes. The Academy is fully central heated and has seperate male and female changing rooms and toilets. The Academy teaches men, women and children of all ages and has seperate childrens "lil dragon" classes, beginners classes and intermediate to advanced classes. Classes not only consist of kickboxing, but also incorporate fast-defence, self-defence, weapon defence and aspects of Brithai modern defence concepts. As well as kickboxing and self-defence, the Japenese stealth art of Ninjustu is also available to children and adults and teaches both Bujinkan and Genbukan authentic Ninjutsu. The Academy is affiliated to the world kickboxing Association and the British National Martial Arts Association.
