Finally some badly need relief from the "Global Warming" or is it just a typical summer in KC. I am still at odds with the Weather People, which I am sure will not change any time soon.
It seems the Club is like 'a cat on a hot tin roof' when it comes to a meeting place. This month we will try yet another Library, this one in Kansas. I hope this one is a little more hospitable than the one in MO. Only time will tell.
The July meeting was again held at the Lacy's home. I would like to thank Helen Lacy for the treats she provided. Out of the nine that were there we had three renewals and one of those was a member that had strayed from the Club a while back, glad to have Jay Kalin back. Also, thanks to Vance Kellinger and John and Valoris Strenge for their renewal.
I still have 64s and 128s with 1541 and 1571 drives. I also have monitors and printers just sitting in my basement doing nothing. For a small price they can be in your home doing something! Call or see me at the next meeting. My phone # is 816-761-4777 and I am home most days after 4 PM.

The Group meeting for July was held on Wednesday, July 11th at the Lacy home. The attendance was 9 members.
Our Prez, Rich Wagner, has apparently relinquished his duties, so our VP, Vance Kellinger, will take over as acting Prez until the next election in December. Thanks, Vance!
Vance announced that CMD is discontinuing sales/support for the Commodore. The good news is that Maurice Randall is acquiring CMD's assets, and will continue to sell/support the Commodore! For more info, see Vance's article in last month's newsletter.
John Strenge suggested that the club consider incorporating, primarily to shield club members from legal liability. According to John, incorporating in the state of Missouri is a relatively painless process, at least as far as "red tape" goes. Also, it costs only $25 to incorporate, and $15 annually to renew. John's suggestion will be put to a vote of all members who attend August's meeting.
Beginning in August, we will be meeting in yet another new location, the Antioch branch of the Johnson County Public Library. This library supposedly has a nice meeting room with a working, accessible phone line. See you at the Antioch Library at 7:00 on Wednesday, August 6th.
The Commodore Users Group of Kansas City is a not-for-profit educational support group for persons using Commodore computers.

Also, members receive access to a library of over 1000 public domain and shareware disks.
Dues are $25 the first year, $20 annually thereafter. Disks of the month and library disks cost $3 each for members.
