US 280 southeast of Birmingham
Fair warning to all motorists: Harpersville is no place to speed! Harpersville and Childersburg, the next major town to the south on US 280, are patrolled constantly. And you must watch the signs: the speed limit changes as you progress through each town. If you're planning to tank-up, hold off until Childersburg: something about the locations of Childersburg and Montevallo to the west result in local gas wars often times.
