The State Legislature has designated the stretch of highway
between Shades Crest and US 31 in Hoover John Hawkins
Parkway, after the State Representative for House District 48.
I saw a medium-sized snapping turtle sunning on the highway
just west of here the day I took these photos, and I find that
to be much more interesting. A career snapping turtle over a
career politician.
